At Stew Leonard’s Wine Store in Farmingdale, NY, ZCI Woodworks was on-hand to replace a commercial, slat-walled look with a warmer, wood-trimmed interior.

Columns were wrapped in a fire-proofed wood stained to specification and trimmed out for a wood-framed look. The retail counter units were sided with reclaimed wine crates made of pine that had previously been used to transport wine to the store. This eco-friendly idea not only made use of green building philosophies, it also gave cash register units more character. Countertops also made use of the reclaimed wine crates, with an epoxy coating to level the counter and make it more resistant to normal wear and tear.

A customer service counter was also built out of pine in the heart of the store. This expansive unit was made to match the other millwork to give the store, as a whole, a more natural look.
